Colin Hawkins: Personal Photography

As a commercial photographer I often spend long days in the studio or hours editing client shoots so I find immense pleasure in stepping away from commissions and to work on personal photography projects. It’s a refreshing shift that allows me to appreciate the freedom of being outdoors creating images just for myself. These personal projects give me the opportunity to experiment, explore new techniques, and develop fresh ideas. I’m particularly drawn to landscapes that highlight the environmental impact of human activity, finding the colder, darker, and more desolate seasons far more interesting than sunny days.

Three Collaborate

Three Collaborate is a personal project that brings together the creative talents of sculptor Anna Gillespie, performance artist Niki Jewett, and myself, a commercial photographer. This collaborative project started as an experiment in my studio, where we explored the concept of “play” and how our diverse artistic disciplines could intersect and complement one another.
